Forthcoming Events
Trouser Trumpets, 8/9 October
Volunteer Day
Christchurch University staff volunteered their 'away day' to the Arden on 24 May.
They did an incredible job re-painting the foyer walls, sewing "Arden' labels into costumes, blitzing the garden and generally spring-cleaning. We are so very grateful to them all.
Auditorium Seating
Recent visitors to the theatre will have noticed the seating transformation. Half of the seats have now been recovered in a glorious ruby red and work will go on to re-upholster the other half in the very near future.
Swale Arts Forum
We recently welcomed members of Swale Arts Forum on a 'get to know you' visit to the Arden. It proved a most enjoyable and and enlightening evening.
NEW ARDEN ENTRANCE
We are delighted to open our new side entrance door to our audiences. This is the latest in our programme of achievements, and makes life easier for us all. We are most grateful to all the people who have helped with their kind donations and hard work. Our fund raising efforts continue, of course; you may have noticed the gradual re-upholstery in glowing red of the auditorium seating, replacing the rather tired-looking blue originals, and then we're looking to provide a proper pathway in the garden to the car park gate.
Improvisation Evenings
A double Whammy!
Greg Watkin will be organising a two-night session of this popular entertainment. Watch this space for further details.
FAVERSHAM YOUNG PLAYERS
The Youth Group, FYP for short, meets at the Arden on Saturday mornings.
Faversham Young Player Saturday morning workshops include improvisation, drama games and working with scripts, with the aim of developing confidence, acting ability and stage presence. They are led by Patrick O’Connor and associates. Pat is a professional actor and teacher. He is a former head of drama at a local secondary school and has appeared on the "ghost gag bench" at the Marlowe Theatre alongside Dave Lee.
There are two Saturday morning groups. Juniors (7- 11 years) meet from 9.30 to 10.30 a.m. and Seniors (12+ years) from 10.30 to 11.45 a.m.
Pat also runs week-long holiday drama workshops, ending with the performance of a play. Please see the Arden Theatre noticeboard for details. New members are considered at any time but may need to wait until the beginning of a new term before starting. For further information call 01227 450528 or 07849 619328 or email FirstStage@pkoconnor.plus.com - or just come along on a Saturday!
