AUDITIONS FOR THE JULY PRODUCTION - to be held at the theatre on Sunday 30 March 2008 at 7.00 pm
Greg Watkin will be directing the July production as part of Swale Festival. He has selected TONS OF MONEY, which was originally written by Will Evans and Valentine as an Aldwych farce, now adapted by Alan Ayckbourn.
The story goes that unsuccessful inventor Aubrey Allington inherits the life interest in a fortune, which reverts on his death to his cousin George Maitland. As Cousin George is thought to have died abroad, Aubrey has the brilliant idea of 'dying' so that he can resurrect himself as his cousin and thus avoid payment of his own enormous debts. But, in the best tradition of farce, complications arise in the form of George's wife, another Maitland imposter (the butler's brother) and finally the real George himself!
The cast calls for six men of varying ages, and 4 women - again of varying ages. Production dates are 17, 18, 19 and 24, 25, 26 July. All welcome at the auditions, which should be a laugh in themselves!'
